Rev. Ivan Stang has made this every week since 1985 — part sermon, part tape collage, part radio drama, part answering-machine messages from strangers. Thirty-nine years without a meaningful break, which makes it one of the longest-running radio shows of any kind.
The show outlived its own distribution: tape, then syndicated reel, then community stations, then a podcast feed reaching back only to 2007, then a personal MP3 stash on a host that went dark. We put the surviving copies back together and checked them against each other.
Thirty-nine years is far too much to scroll. Choose an era and the Church picks the episode. Tap the same year again to release it.
